All our students are capable of greatness. Their chances of success are maximised when we work in partnership with them and their families. Home Learning is a vital element of that partnership and can significantly improve students' chances of success.
Learning is a change in memory. Home Learning therefore, needs to strengthen students’ memories of the things they learn in class. The video on the bottom of this page details how to use self-quizzing to prepare for both retrieval practice tests in class, and to revise for more formal assessments, and exams. Students should aim to do around 20 minutes of this kind of Home Learning each day, alongside other Home Learning tasks set by their teachers. The role of families in supporting children in this is vital.
Families can view Home Learning maps for each subject by following the relevant links across the page. These maps provide an overview of exactly what students should be doing for Home Learning, in every subject, and in every year group.
