Key Stage 3
At Beckfoot, Key Stage Three refers to years 7, 8 and 9.
Students have 25 hours of timetabled learning a week. You can see how this is broken down on Our Curriculum Model.
Students also have a designated PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education) session each week.
We have worked hard alongside our primary colleagues to ensure that our schemes of work build on the excellent learning that has taken place in Years 5 and 6.
All students study the following subjects:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Geography
- History
- RE
- French
- German
- Music
- Art
- Design and Technology (including food, textiles and workshop)
- Drama and Dance
- PE
- Computer Science
Personalised Pathways
In December and January of Year 9, students choose their options for GCSE options. Alongside work in PSHCE, students get the opportunity to talk to their teachers and members of the Leadership Team to ensure they have all the advice and guidance they need to make an informed decision. You can find out more on our Options Page.
