Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. Beckfoot School

Friday 15 July 2022

There’s a real buzz at Beckfoot School this week as staff and students prepare for an unforgettable return of our Enrichment Week!

It offers a wealth of exciting opportunities to encourage students to nurture their talents, step out of their comfort zones, build new relationships and grow in confidence, knowledge and skills.

The school day is as normal unless the attached itinerary states differently. Please check this document carefully. Full attendance is compulsory for all students irrespective of their chosen activity. If your child is unwell during the week, please follow the normal attendance procedure. If your child tests positive for Covid-19 over the weekend, please email attendance@beckfoot.org so we can update the activity leads and providers.  School buses are as normal, both to and from school. If an activity is scheduled to return to school after 2:45pm, please ensure your child knows how they’re getting home.

Our standards in terms of behavior remain as normal and we expect, given the opportunities afforded to our students throughout the week, that those standards will be even higher. We expect students to represent their school, themselves and their families brilliantly throughout the week and demonstrate the amazing young people that we know them to be.

We are expecting the weather to be fantastic throughout but we are also acutely aware that Monday and Tuesday especially promise to be extremely hot and sunny. Please ensure your child is prepared for their activities with high factor sun cream, a hat, and plenty of water to keep them safe. We will only cancel trips in the event of advice from activity providers. Our staff will also take necessary measures to look after your children. More information on the weather can be found here. Students do not need to wear school uniform, but must ensure that what they wear is suitable for the activity they are taking part in, particularly with regard to comfortable footwear. For the residential trips, kit lists have been provided.

Lunch and breaks are normal in school with the usual school menu. Students can bring a packed lunch if they choose to. Break will be at 10:30am and lunch will be at 12:20pm for all students, irrespective of their year group. On days that student will be out of school, please check the attached itinerary which states if your child is required to bring a packed lunch.

Only prescription medication can be brought on school trips. These will be looked after by the trip leader. Please ensure you have completed the medication form and sent FAO Jackie Drew (School Health Carer).

Thank you for reading this information carefully and preparing your child for the week ahead. We hope that they really enjoy themselves.

If you have any queries or questions, please email becktrips@beckfoot.org.

Kind regards,

Darren Cooley

Deputy Headteacher
