Year 11 & 13 Prom Update

Dear Parent or Carer, 

Cancellation of Year 11 and Year 13 Prom 

I am writing to let you know that following the government’s decision to continue with the current level of restrictions until the 19th of July, we can no longer go ahead with the planned Prom events from both Year 11 and Year 13 students. 

Having checked with the respective venues, our students would only be allowed to sit for food on tables of no more than six. Singing, the use of a DJ and dancing would not be permitted. In essence it would simply be a meal and little else which totally defeats the purpose of a Prom. We will make sure that all monies paid are reimbursed as quickly as possible. 

On a personal note, I am devastated for our students, most of whom were very much looking forward to these events. If there were any alternatives, then we would have explored these further. Unfortunately, given the restrictions, there were not. 

I am very sorry to be sharing news such as this at this time but felt the more notice I could provide for our students and families, the better.
