Update to School Holiday Calendars

Dear Parent/Carer
Update to School Holiday Calendars
2020/2021 and 2021/2022
I am writing to explain a decision taken to move our planned training day on Friday 18 June 2021 back, by one week, to Friday 25 June 2021. The reason for this is there is a planned announcement to be made by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on Monday 21 June 2021.
Every indication has been given that the country is on track with the planned route out of COVID restrictions and it is possible that June 21st will bring us all good news that we can get back to a full normality. If we delay our training day, and the June-to-June move for students, by one week, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to be able to make the academic year 2021-22 a very strong one with a wonderful start free from all the current restrictions we have in school. I hope this makes sense and you agree.
Therefore, our plan is to delay the June-to-June training day to Friday 25 June 2021 and our new academic year until Monday 28 June 2021. We will then have four weeks of uninterrupted teaching and learning until we finish for the summer on Thursday 22 July 2021.
In addition, the nation will be marking the Queen's Jubilee next year and there will be an added Bank Holiday that we must add to our planned school calendar for 2021-22. We have made the decision to add the additional day this gives us to the summer holidays and finish school on Thursday 21 July 2022. Again, I hope this makes sense for you all and will minimise any disruption to the exam season in May and June of next year.
All our school holiday calendars are updated on our website for reference: Holiday Dates
Best wishes.
