The Business department at Beckfoot School aims to develop young business students and knowledgeable entrepreneurs. The planned and specialised delivery of the specifications gives students the opportunity to explore real life business issues and how businesses work enabling them to utilise this knowledge in their next steps.
Business Studies FAQs
1. Can I do Economics and Business A Levels?
The answer is no as there is overlap between the two subjects.
2. How is the course assessed?
100% exam, at the end of Year 13. There are 3 exam papers, each one is 2 hours long. The overall grade comes form an average of the three papers.
3. Can I just do one year of the course and sit the AS exam?
No, this is a 2 year A Level course. We do not enter students for external exams at the end of Year 12.
4. Do I have to buy my own textbook?
Yes, students are expected to buy their own textbooks. These can be purchased from Amazon.
5. Do I have to do extra independent work outside the classroom for this A Level?
Yes, you are expected to do 5 hours per week independent learning for every subject at A Level.
