Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Seneca

Dear Parent / Carer,

Supporting students with revision

We want to ensure that all of our GCSE and A-Level students are supported in their revision and independent study. Revision is most effective when it is part of students’ weekly routine, as opposed to something that they engage in just before mocks or summer examinations. As a school, our students have access to:

  • Independent Learning Booklets, including knowledge organisers
  • All lesson resources, accessed via our My learning Resources platform here and on our website: My Learning Resources - Home (sharepoint.com)
  • And, of course, their exercise books and other work completed in class

We want to share with you another way in which students can revise at home. Seneca is a free online learning platform that uses short tutorials and then quizzes students on the contents. It keeps track of where students need further revision and tailors their learning to them as individuals. Your child can sign up for a free account here: Free Homework & Revision for A Level, GCSE, KS3 & KS2 (senecalearning.com)

When signing up, students can choose to include a parent / carer email address in order that you can get updates on their revision. If you want to find out more about Seneca, we have included some information on our Year 11 webpage here: Beckfoot School - Revision Skills

Between now and the summer holidays, we will be supporting students in school in setting up their accounts and linking them to the specific exam boards that they are studying. In the meantime, your child can go ahead and set up their free account and begin to use its resources.

We hope this information is useful and that your child enjoys this additional option available to them.

Yours faithfully,

Nikki Sullivan - Deputy Headteacher
