School Open: Thursday 9 January 2025

Dear Parents/Carers and Students,

As promised I want to let you know that I have made the decision to open again this morning. We have walked the site 3 times since 5.30am and I am happy that this is the right decision.

Despite the fall in temperatures overnight the site is in good condition and we will be ready to welcome students in from 11:00am for a 11:20am start at Period 3. Some of you have asked if students would be able to access school earlier than 11:00am and I would have no issues with students coming a little earlier from 10.30am if it helps this morning. For any that choose to do so they will need to access school via the main entrance. Our bus bay and turning circle gates will be open and supervised from 11:00am.

I know that side streets are unlikely to have been treated overnight but Priority 1 and 2 routes were due to be gritted overnight following conversations with the council yesterday. Grit bins were also due to be refilled to support with paths but I am unsure if any of that has happened since yesterday.

Please note; school buses will be running this afternoon as usual, there will be no after school activities and the library (LRC) will be shut from 3:00pm.
