Lois leads the way as a Youth Peer Researcher
Following an application and selection programme, Lois in Year 12, has been employed as a Youth Peer Researcher for The Young Foundation. The Young Foundation is the UK’s home for community research and social innovation. As a not-for-profit organisation, it brings communities, organisations and policymakers together to shape a fairer future, driving positive change and supporting collective action to improve people’s lives.
Lois has been working with a group of over 50 young people on a report commissioned by the Young Foundation and her work is featured heavily in the report.
Lois feels that the issues stemming from the pandemic for young people in the Yorkshire and Humber region are centred around the following:
1. Drug and Alcohol abuse
2. Mental Health support
3. Education and Future Ready support
