Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Local School Committee Opportunity

November 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Local School Committee

I would like to share an exciting opportunity we have for members of our community to make a great contribution to our school via our Local School Committee (LSC).

The LSC has specific responsibility for the welfare and well-being of both students and staff, together with supporting and encouraging family engagement. The LSC also reviews survey results related to these areas and helps to ensure continuous improvement in school.

We would like to invite expressions of interest in joining the committee from all parent/carers of our diverse community. It is important to us that a wide range of parent/carer and staff stakeholders are represented on our LSC, everyone is welcome, no formal qualifications are necessary, and we are keen to talk to anyone who would like to be involved.

In terms of time commitment, LSC members will usually attend four early-evening meetings a year and be asked to participate in occasional Trust events and review documents at home prior to meetings.

Although we are currently unsure of the exact number of places available and depending on the number of expressions of interest we receive, we would ideally like to have representation of parents/carers from each Key Stage.

If you would like further information on what this exciting voluntary position involves or would like to express an interest, please contact Emily Wintersgill on by Friday 2 December.

Kind regards

Simon Wade
