Industrial Action Update - Home Learning
Dear Families
Learning at home on Wednesday for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.
We wanted to provide some additional detail ahead of the Industrial Action tomorrow.
For our students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10, work will be set on Class Charts and include some written work and some Seneca assignments.
This week, your child has been supported in tutor time with how to access Seneca Learning and a brief overview can be found here: Beckfoot School - Seneca Information - Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13
These assignments will not 'go live' until Wednesday morning in order to support our students in managing their time. As all students work at a different pace, there is no expectation that all work is completed, and students should not do more than their usual 5 hours a day of lesson time. We have deliberately included a practical PE session which can be completed at home to give our students a break from their screens / written tasks.
You can set up your own Seneca Learning account, where you will be able to see how your child is using this platform for revision, as the website/app can also be used by students to support their independent learning. Details can be found here: Beckfoot School - Seneca Information - for families
All work set on Class Charts will also have an 'extension activity' so should any students have difficulties getting onto Seneca, or just want to undertake a variety of activities over the course of the day, they can complete this activity instead.
Best wishes,
Nikki Sullivan, Deputy Headteacher
