I want to offer my congratulations to all our Year 11 students for all that they have achieved today.  It has been incredibly special to be able to share this morning with them and to celebrate in their successes and achievements. GCSEs are always a test of knowledge; they are also often the first-time young people truly understand the importance of hard work and organisation.  Students receiving results today have learnt the lessons of previous cohorts and have also faced unique challenges that have tested them in so many other ways. 

On behalf of myself and the staff, I want to applaud every single member of the Class of 2021.  They have demonstrated tremendous maturity and resilience during a time of great uncertainty.   We know that for the young people receiving results today, it is just the beginning, and we wish them all the very best in their continuing educational journey.  They deserve to be happy and successful.

For those leaving us today I wish them well in their future endeavours. For those staying, we very much look forward to them being a significant part of our Post 16 Beckfoot community in September.

I also want to offer my heart-felt thanks to all the parents for their support and often challenge. It is so important that we continue to work together for the benefit of our young people. The relationship between us makes a difference. Of that I have little doubt.

Finally, I want to thank the staff who have lived and breathed these results over the past months. Indeed, this year, more so than ever, the staff have worked so hard to ensure our students have had every opportunity to be successful. They have been amazing.
