Covid-19 Update
Dear Parents/Carers
I want to thank you for your incredible support for the decision to re-introduce the wearing of face coverings on corridors and in communal areas just before half term. I also want to let you know that our students have been amazing in terms of their respect for that decision and have been wonderfully supportive in their willingness to comply.
At the time of taking that decision, we were worried about a slight rise in Covid cases across school and I said I would review our position today, Friday the 5th of November. In doing so, I have considered a number of factors in helping me to determine next steps including national and local infection rates, the current situation in school (which is much improved thankfully) and the views that have been shared with me by staff, students and families. That information has convinced me that we need to continue to ask staff, students and families to support the continued wearing of face coverings on corridors and in communal areas for another two weeks after which time we will again review the situation.
We have continued to take steps to keep our community safe such as increased ventilation, continued use of hand sanitiser on entry to classrooms, cancellation of mass gatherings in school such as assemblies and our recent Year 13 parental consultation evening (which was held virtually). All of these things are making a difference and need to continue in the short term at least.
I very much hope you feel that this is the right course of action to be taking at the current time and, as always, please feel free to get in touch with any feedback you wish to share.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Simon Wade
