Covid-19 Update Face Masks - 13 May 2021
Thursday 13 May 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Covid-19 Update: Face masks in school
I am writing to let you know that from Monday 17 May 2021, in line with Step 3 of the Government roadmap, face coverings will no longer be recommended for secondary school students or staff in classrooms. If staff or students choose to continue to wear a face covering in classrooms, they of course can.
As a precautionary measure, the Director of Public Health at Bradford Council recommends that pupils in secondary schools continue to wear face coverings in corridors and communal areas in schools.
We think this is a very sensible approach and will therefore continue to ask that students follow this guidance and wear face coverings in the communal areas of school. Our staff will do the same.
Face covering regulations remain the same from Monday 17 May 2021 outside of school in public indoor places, including public and school transport.
Our absolute priority throughout this pandemic has been the safety of all those in our care. We have been thrilled with the support received from staff, students and families in relation to all aspects of our Risk Assessment and expectations. We know that you will continue to provide that support in the weeks ahead and we are incredibly grateful.
Should you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best wishes,
Simon Wade
