Welcoming the New Year with Hope, Talent, and Kindness

As we step into 2026, I would like to warmly welcome all our students and families back to Beckfoot. A new year is always a special time; one filled with fresh beginnings, renewed energy, and exciting possibilities.

This year, we look forward to growing together academically, socially, and emotionally. Our aim is to continue to provide a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every student feels valued, confident, and encouraged to do their very best. Learning is about so much more than books and lessons; it is about curiosity, kindness, resilience, and a belief that anything is possible if you are willing to work hard enough.

As we reflect on the end of last year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements and character of our young people. James, in Year 12, ended the year on an extraordinary high, being named winner of the violin category in The World’s Best Musician competition – a prestigious classical music competition that showcases exceptional talent from around the world. Indeed, just last week he completed a remarkable concert at the Barbican Theatre in London. James’s journey is a powerful reminder of what passion, dedication, and perseverance can achieve.

Equally inspiring is the generosity shown by Joseph in Year 7, who used his musical talents to bring joy to others just before Christmas. Joseph played the piano at a care home in Bingley, joined by his brother on the clarinet and ukulele. Their performance created moments of happiness and connection for residents. During the visit, Joseph organised a small collection, raising £20, which has since been donated to a charity through which he sponsors a young person who lives in Bolivia. This thoughtful act beautifully demonstrates how music and kindness can make a meaningful difference in the world.

In the run-up to Christmas, our wider student community also showed outstanding generosity and compassion. Students raised significant funds and collected large amounts of food to support local charities such a Bradford Soup Run and the Bingley Food Bank, helping those in need within our community. These acts reflect the empathy, responsibility, and care for others that we strive to nurture in every child. We are immensely proud of how our young people continue to look beyond themselves and support others in such meaningful ways.

Wishing you and your families a happy, healthy, and successful 2026.

Take Care
