School Bus Service Update
In order to maintain safety levels on the school bus service we ensure all students travelling by a school service bus have a Priority Photocard (a school bus travel card) for every academic year. A priority photocard applications lets the West Yorkshire Combined Authority know how many people require that bus and will provide larger or additional buses where neecessary.
Bus drivers check regularly that students have their priority photocard when they board the bus.
Please can we remind students that they must be positive ambassadors for Beckfoot when travelling to and from school, this includes on the school bus service following our PLS. Students are expected to behave in a sensible, mature manner.
From Sunday, 30 March 2025, school bus fares in West Yorkshire will increase following a review of bus fares for under 19s by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The single fare on most secondary school bus services will rise from £1.20 to £1.60.
Prices for MCard, MyDay, MyWeek, MyMonth, MyAcademicYear and MyYear tickets will also increase.
This change will make sure all students across the region are paying the same fare, no matter how they travel to school or college. While we appreciate this may impact families, these fares have remained unchanged since September 2020, despite rising service costs.
