Beckfoot Trust is an organisation that links a group of local Bradford schools together so that they can collectively improve the life chances for young people within their schools. Our aim is to create a group of truly remarkable schools each with a genuine comprehensive intake. They will be wonderful places for young people to learn and grow up in. We want to make a difference. We want to create something special.

Dear Families,

I am delighted to share with you the outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 18th and 19th March 2025. Ofsted found our school to remain ‘Outstanding’ in all areas. This has been achieved against a remarkably challenging framework, and we could not be prouder of our school, its community and our pupils.

The Ofsted report is filled with praise for our high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils, our ambitious curriculum, extensive personal development programme, and the “strong and trusted” relationships between staff and pupils. This incredible report is a true reflection of the school community we have collectively built at Beckfoot, and all staff, pupils, and families should be immensely proud of this achievement.

The report is now available on our website, and I would encourage you to read it in full.

Throughout the report, inspectors found a wide range of attributes that have contributed to our outstanding school and ensured that our pupils can reach their full potential. Key insights included:

  • The quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and Sixth-form provision were all rated ‘Outstanding’.
  • Our school is a setting that “first and foremost, cares deeply about people.”
  • The report described our school as a “diverse family” where “everyone belongs”.
  • “The school has the highest expectations and ambitions for all of its pupils.”, and as a result, all of our students make remarkable progress.
  • Inspectors praised our students for conducting themselves “to the highest standard”, noting that they all “develop a rich array of positive character traits.”
  • The school has implemented leadership roles which have a “considerable contribution towards, and positive influence on, the school’s work.”
  • Inspectors praised our Sixth Form students for taking on a “prominent mantle of leadership at the school”, and as such act as “exemplary role models to younger pupils.”
  • The report praised our school for providing “exceptional opportunities for pupils to prosper.”
  • “Teachers have excellent subject knowledge,” and provide students with “highly engaging lessons” that support students in developing a vast range of skills and knowledge.
  • “Pupils are challenged and supported very effectively by staff to achieve their full potential.”
  • Ofsted praised our “school’s ambition for pupils” across all aspects of provision, noting that “pupils with SEND are quickly identified and provided with the support they need” to ensure they can “integrate seamlessly into mainstream lessons.”
  • Inspectors found that pupils “talk enthusiastically about reading”, and that where further reading support is needed, students receive “expert help” and “rapidly improve their reading skills.
  • The report praised our students' “impeccable” behaviour, noting that we rarely hand out sanctions because “these actions are rarely needed.”
  • “Pupils enjoy learning and attend well.”
  • The report commended our exceptional careers provision, noting that pupils “experience a wide range of opportunities to engage with employers and experience the world of work.”
  • Leadership at all levels was deemed “highly effective”, with their work and dedication to improving the school described as “relentless”.
  • Inspectors noted that “staff are incredibly positive about working at the school.” And that high levels of well-being were reported.

As we celebrate this incredible achievement, I want to note that we will remain steadfast in our commitment to raising standards in our school and building on this positive result. I hope that you are just as excited as I am to continue working together to deliver the best for our community.

I want to say a huge thank you. Our families are a vital part of our success at Beckfoot School. We are a close-knit school community, and your continued support, encouragement, and partnership have been vital to our school's success. We hope that you are proud of this result, as it is a true testament to your support for our thriving school community that offers all of our pupils exceptional opportunities, education and support.

If you have any questions about the report, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Emily Wintersgill at ewintersgill01@beckfoot.org who will be happy to assist you.

Yours sincerely,

Simon Wade, Headteacher
