A Level Politics

Students will build upon the skills gained at GCSE and apply them to new areas of study. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the Government and understand complex political concepts such as liberalism, socialism and conservatism.

The assessments consist of three externally examined papers which include longer style essays and shorter responses to stimulus.

  • Grade 5 in a GCSE Humanities subject

Careers

Politics A Level is well regarded as an A Level by universities. Most universities offer degree programs in politics, international relations and similar fields showing that the A Level course creates a pathway to higher education. It also provides a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in politics, civil service, journalism and teaching.
