Arts Award Bronze – An exciting opportunity for Year 9

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering Arts Award Bronze to a small number of Year 9 students this year.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised arts qualification that gives young people the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop their skills and discover more about the world of the arts. It can involve a wide range of art forms, including music, drama, dance, photography, creative writing and textiles. More information can be found on the Arts Award website: Bronze Arts Award

What is Arts Award Bronze?

Arts Award Bronze gives students the opportunity to:

  • Develop their own creative skills and take part in arts activities.
  • Explore the work of artists and arts organisations and experience arts events.
  • Share an arts skill with other people, developing confidence and communication skills.
  • Find out about arts careers and opportunities in the creative industries.
  • Reflect on their experiences and develop skills such as creativity, independence, communication, organisation and confidence.

We are offering this opportunity to a small number of Year 9 students. If you are interested in finding out more, please come along to one of our short information meetings: Monday 12th October at 10.30am or 10.55am (any point in SPA time).

The meeting will explain what is involved, what you will need to do and how your existing creative activities and interests could already contribute towards the award.

What does it cost?

Families will be asked to contribute £15 towards the cost of the qualification, with the remaining cost being covered by the school. Please note, this payment will only be requested once you have completed all of the required tasks towards the end of the year. Some students may qualify for full funding.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Best wishes

Emily Kyle – Assistant Faculty Leader for Creativity
