Sixth Form Open Evening - Thursday 6 November 2025

At Beckfoot School, we pride ourselves in offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities beyond the curriculum. We encourage all students to engage in these activities to support them in their personal development outside of the classroom.
We are committed to providing as many enrichment activities as possible for our students, and aim to ensure that all enrichment opportunities complement and build upon that offered within the curriculum experience. Students and parents will be regularly informed of the opportunities available.

Students are encouraged to join up to two Sports and Performing Arts (SPA) activities which are held during the day. Activities offered usually include drama, dance, art, music, singing, netball, trampolining, badminton, basketball, gymnastics, football and fitness – something for everyone! The new SPA timetable is available to view or download below.
Beckfoot offers a variety of after-school activities and clubs, currently including dance, woodwork, music groups, textiles, cheerleading and climbing as well as various sports clubs including badminton, rugby, athletics, table tennis, netball and football. The new after school timetable is available to view or download below.
Please note that students will leave school through the main reception once their after-school activity, clubs or fixtures finish.
Also, due to safeguarding reasons, we do not permit spectators to any after-school activity, club or fixture. Thank you for your understanding.

We have a fantastic team of instrumental and vocal staff who offer incredible tuition for our students. These music lessons allow students to explore their musical interests in a supportive, constructive and developmental setting. During lessons students will build their skills on their chosen instrument or voice, developing into fantastic musicians who take part in musical activities both in and out of school.
The students receive 33 lessons a year, these can be either 30 minute individual or 30 minute group lessons (two students per group). To find out more and sign up for this great opportunity, please sign up here: Beckfoot School Instrumental lesson sign up form – To be completed by parent/carer.

Trips and enrichment activities are run throughout the year and can range from residential trips within the UK and beyond, whole year group trips, subject-specific trips as well as reward trips.
They are co-ordinated via The Trips Team. We will let you know about them via the Class Charts school app and payments are made using ParentPay.
If students have a trip query, they can speak to the SFO. If parents have a trip query, please email [email protected].
This takes place in the final week of the school year before students break up for the summer break. It is a week off timetable where students in Year 7, 8 and 9 take part in an activity of their choice.
The Enrichment Week booklet is issued in October with details of all the activities, ranging from residential trips in the UK and abroad, to local visits, as well as exciting in-house activities. Costs for the trips vary.
Enrichment Week is coordinated by The Trips Team and payments (including payment plans) are made using ParentPay. If students have an Enrichment Week query, they can speak to the SFO. If parents have an Enrichment Week query, please email [email protected].
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award award is recognised by employers, colleges and universities in the UK and around the world and many people have found that it has given them a leading edge when applying for courses and jobs. Participating in the award brings new interests and leads to a growth in self-confidence and resilience.
