Yorkshire Water has informed us of the need to carry out emergency/essential works at the top of the rear turning circle entrance on Bradford Road on the evening of Thursday 10 September 2026 and Friday 11 September 2026. Unfortunately, these works are outside of our control and must be completed urgently.
As a result, the rear drive, turning circle and our rear staff car park will be out of use from 4pm on Thursday until after the weekend and there will be some temporary changes to how Beckfoot students enter and leave school on Friday.
Morning arrival:
- Students walking/entering via Wagon Lane will be directed down the front drive and through the Lettings gate, which is located before the library.
- Students entering via Bradford Road will use one pedestrian entrance at the top of the rear drive and enter through the school gates near the turning circle, as usual.
- Tape and cones will be used to clearly identify the temporary routes and barriers.
- Members of the Leadership and Support & Challenge Teams will be on duty to assist and direct students.
- PTS transport and students with transport passes can arrive and depart as normal through the front car park and the library.
Afternoon departure:
- Students will be able to leave via the Wagon Lane entrance/bus bay gates as normal until 3:15pm.
- Students leaving via Bradford Road will continue to use the one pedestrian entrance, as they did in the morning.
We appreciate that these temporary arrangements may cause some disruption, particularly during the morning arrival period and at the end of the school day.
Please can we ask that as many students as possible walk, use the bus service or cycle to school on Friday. For anyone who has no other choice but to drive we ask that you respect the need for additional understanding should it be busier than normal throughout the day.
We also ask that you do not obstruct the local Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club site or community members and we please ask to not park on any of the following roads under any circumstances during the day and warn that the council is aware of this issue and may or may not be present:
- Wagon Lane
- Ash Grove
- Ashfield Crescent
- Southlands Avenue
- Southfield Road
- Southlands Grove
