6th-10th July 2026 – Cultures Day Awareness Week

Following on from the assemblies student had this week, Awareness Week will take place next week.
Throughout the week, there will be Tutor Takeover sessions designed to encourage students to reflect on who they are and consider how we can all help everyone feel that they belong and matter at Beckfoot.
To conclude the week, we will be celebrating Cultures’ Day on Friday.
Students are invited to come to school wearing clothing that represents who they are. This could include:
- Traditional or cultural clothing
- Clothing representing a club or activity they are part of (e.g. Scouts, dance, martial arts, football, netball etc…)
- A sports kit or team shirt for a club they support
- Clothing or colours that represent a country or heritage that is important to them
- Clothing that reflects a hobby, passion or interest
- Their favourite colour, if they simply want to celebrate who they are
There is no expectation to buy anything new. We encourage students to wear something they already own that helps express Their identity. Students who would prefer to wear their normal school uniform are, of course, very welcome to do so.

Throughout the day there will also be:
- Music and dance in the hall
- Food stalls
- Quizzes and activities
If students would like to bring in food to share, please drop it off in the English workroom on Friday morning. We will also be collecting small cash donations for UNICEF.
Thank you in advance for your support in making this week a success.
