This week

Given the extreme weather conditions forecast for the remainder of this week, we have decided to allow all students the choice of following attire for the next 3 days:
- their full their normal full school uniform with normal school shoes (jumper does not have to be worn); or
- their full Beckfoot School PE kit with trainers (hoodie does not have to be worn).
No other items of clothing will be permitted.
For post -16 students, this will also include the wearing of smart shorts.
On Monday 29 June 2026, we will revert back to normal full school uniform with normal school shoes during the day.
Remember: we strongly recommend bringing plenty of water, sun protection, including sun cream and a hat/cap (to be worn whilst outside during breaktimes, PE lessons, and other outdoor activities), to help protect against the sun.
For outdoor PE lessons, students should come prepared for activity in the heat. Please note that sunglasses cannot be worn during PE, but suitable sun hats are encouraged when outside.
Please take care.

Wednesday 1 July 2026 – Year 6 to 7 Transition Day

8:35am – 2:00pm

Drop off – 8.35am-8:50am

  • We look forward to seeing your child again on our Transition Day. They will experience a day at Beckfoot, learn more about the school and hopefully get answers to all their questions.
  • It is also an opportunity to begin to get to know the site, build new friendships and get to know their Tutor.
  • Please ensure your child is at the front of school (bus bay gates entrance) between 8.35am-8:50am where staff will be excited to meet and greet them. Please do not arrive earlier due to the school buses.

Get ready

  • Your child must wear their primary school uniform.
  • For today only, your child can wear comfortable trainers with their primary uniform, so they join in with activities we may have planned for them.
  • They are not permitted to wear hats or coats inside the building.
  • They will be having their photograph taken in readiness for their September start.
  • Please ensure your child has a stocked pencil case, a packed lunch, and a drink for their day with us.
  • Children who receive Free Schools Meals will be provided with a ‘grab-bag’ which includes a sandwich, a baked item, a piece of fruit and a carton of juice.
  • We’re providing a snack for every child at break time.
  • If your child has any specific dietary requirements, please let us know via the survey at the end of this letter.

Home time – 2:00pm

  • All students need to know how they are getting home at 2:00pm. They can either be collected in person by a parent/carer from the bus bay gates entrance or they can walk home by their own means (from exiting the bus bay gates). Please ensure the preferred method is stated via the survey at the end of this letter.
  • In order to ensure a smooth departure for our new students and their families, you may park in the bus bay. Our driveway, in front of reception, is only available to families with a permit and Hazelbeck transport.
  • Children with older siblings at the school must meet off-site.
  • Collections/home time will finish at 2:20pm, after which the bus bay entrance gates will be closed and locked. Any students who have not been collected by this time will be taken to Reception to wait. We also ask that all vehicles are moved from the bus bay area by 2:20pm to allow school buses access.
