This week

Given the extreme weather conditions forecast for the remainder of this week, we have decided to allow all students the choice of following attire for the next 3 days:
- their full their normal full school uniform with normal school shoes (jumper does not have to be worn); or
- their full Beckfoot School PE kit with trainers (hoodie does not have to be worn).
No other items of clothing will be permitted.
For post -16 students, this will also include the wearing of smart shorts.
On Monday 29 June 2026, we will revert back to normal full school uniform with normal school shoes during the day.
Remember: we strongly recommend bringing plenty of water, sun protection, including sun cream and a hat/cap (to be worn whilst outside during breaktimes, PE lessons, and other outdoor activities), to help protect against the sun.
For outdoor PE lessons, students should come prepared for activity in the heat. Please note that sunglasses cannot be worn during PE, but suitable sun hats are encouraged when outside.
Please take care.

Monday 8 June 2026 – End of Year Summer Reward Trip

End of Year Summer Reward Trip – Monday 8 June 2026

To celebrate the end of the year and students’ excellent attitude to learning, attendance and behaviour during this academic year, our last student reward will be a visit to Flamingo Land; “Yorkshire’s ultimate Theme Park attraction & an award winning Zoo”.

This trip will take place on Monday 8 June 2026 and the approximate cost to parents/carers will be between £40.00 – £45.00 which covers transport and admission fees.

This trip will be added to your ParentPay account after half term and it can be paid in full or as a payment plan with six instalments. Once you have given consent on ParentPay, this will reserve your child’s place on the trip. The cut-off date to reserve a place on the trip is Friday 15 May 2026. Pupil premium money will not be used to fund this trip.

We want as many of our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students as possible to be able to attend this event and finish the year in style. To be rewarded with this trip, students need to achieve the following during the period; Monday 23 February 2026 to Friday 15 May 2026:

  • All students will be expected to have an Attitude to Learning Score of 1.15 or lower.
  • All students will be expected to have exceptionally high attendance. (we will review medical appointments).
  • All students will be expected not to have received a C4 or C5. (Over 95% of our students have never had these codes.)

We will communicate with you by Tuesday 19 May 2026 whether your child has been successful in achieving the above to access this reward. If you have already paid monies towards the trip and your child is not successful in achieving the above to access the reward, we will refund your payment.

We hope to see to as many of our students on this rewards trip as possible.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Midgley, Head of KS3 and Attendance Lead
