This week

Given the extreme weather conditions forecast for the remainder of this week, we have decided to allow all students the choice of following attire for the next 3 days:
- their full their normal full school uniform with normal school shoes (jumper does not have to be worn); or
- their full Beckfoot School PE kit with trainers (hoodie does not have to be worn).
No other items of clothing will be permitted.
For post -16 students, this will also include the wearing of smart shorts.
On Monday 29 June 2026, we will revert back to normal full school uniform with normal school shoes during the day.
Remember: we strongly recommend bringing plenty of water, sun protection, including sun cream and a hat/cap (to be worn whilst outside during breaktimes, PE lessons, and other outdoor activities), to help protect against the sun.
For outdoor PE lessons, students should come prepared for activity in the heat. Please note that sunglasses cannot be worn during PE, but suitable sun hats are encouraged when outside.
Please take care.

Thursday 22 January 2026 – Year 9 Options Evening

4:30pm–6:30pm

The Options Evening is an incredibly important event in the Beckfoot calendar. It represents the beginning of a process that, ultimately, provides students with the exciting opportunity to shape part of their educational provision for the first time. It is vital that the choices made, allow your child to both enjoy and achieve success in their chosen subject areas over the next two years. In addition, the choices made can influence what options are available post GCSE so I would ask you to bear that in mind throughout the process.

Your attendance at this evening is critically important as you will learn more about the options available for your child as they move into Key Stage 4 in June. We will speak to parents/carers and your children in the main hall at 4.45pm and 5.30pm (you only need to hear one of these talks) and then you will have time to talk to teachers about subjects and courses in the atrium.

We look forward to seeing you on the 22nd.

To confirm attendance and reserve your place at one of the talks, please complete the following form: https://forms.office.com/e/9Lzs9fv9Xw (Please note, bookings will be a first-come first serve basis).

If you have any questions at this point, please email Emily Wintersgill at [email protected]

Yours sincerely
