Notification of intention to process biometric

Starting from September 2025, Beckfoot School will be changing its catering supplier. As part of this change, we will be moving from card-based payments to a biometric fingerprint system for purchasing food in the school serveries.

Please be aware that students will still need to wear their lanyards for identification purposes.

We kindly ask all parents and carers to read the policy guidance carefully. Once reviewed, please indicate your preference by selecting one of the options below within your Class Charts message by Thursday 3 July 2025:

• If you consent to the school collecting your child’s fingerprint data for use in the new biometric system, please click the ‘GIVE CONSENT’ button.
• If you do not wish to give consent, please click the ‘Do Not Consent’ button. In this case, your child will be issued a PIN number, which they will need to remember and provide verbally to the cashier when purchasing food.

Please note that by providing your consent via Class Charts, you are agreeing to the terms outlined in the attached biometric policy, which is summarised below:

“Having read guidance provided to me by Beckfoot School, I give consent to information from the fingerprint of my child being taken and used by Beckfoot School for use as part of an automated biometric recognition system for accessing catering.

I understand that I can withdraw this consent at any time in writing.”
