Good morning all,
Beckfoot School is open today.
At the moment (and overnight) the Met Office is forecasting snow from 7am but we have no idea how heavy or prolonged it might be.
Many of you know that I hate snow in term time. It is the one decision that I have to make that will never be right for everyone (staff, students, families etc). I have to take into account whether the site is safe, are main roads ok, buses running, what are other local schools doing and, most importantly, can I ensure the safety and welfare of students and staff getting to and from school. It's complex and not easy and I know you are aware of that.
I feel that, given the uncertainty of the forecast, it is safer to make a decision now and hope that I have got it right for all.
Finally, regardless of the weather, we will be continuing with on online Year 7 parents evening as normal.
