Members of the Beckfoot charity group and three Hazelbeck students visited Martin House Hospice today. It was a productive visit in which everyone learned a lot about how the hospice is run and the dedicated people who make Martin House such a wonderful place.
Firstly, we arrived at the Hospice and introduced ourselves and spoke of our reasons for wanting to take part in Beckfoot's charity group. Next, the members of staff at Martin House gave us an overview of how the hospice is run and of the children who stay in there. Afterwards, we had a tour of the facilities, most of us loved the game room!
Finally, we reflected on what we thought of Martin House. After thanking the hospice staff, we headed back to Beckfoot. It was a great experience and an opportunity to build our leadership skills.
