We had a fantastic first day in school on Tuesday. We welcomed our new year 7 and year 12 students in the morning and experienced the magical feeling of the building coming to life. School is always a strange place to be without the students in it and we love to have them back!
Year 10 and 11 students were also in school with their parents and carers for their ‘Futures Day’; looking with their tutors at their progression plans, their current progress, and how they can best work to achieve the grades they will need to secure their career aims.
Our year 7s have made a spectacular start to their journey as ‘Beckfooters’, spent time with their tutors, excitedly signed up for extra-curricular sporting, music and drama activities at the Enrichment Fair, and then had their first Beckfoot lessons. Meanwhile year 12s started to get to grips with the demands of post 16 learning, meeting with their personal tutors and learning about the V100 and study skills support initiatives. They are still excited by their GCSE success and relishing the challenges ahead.
Wednesday saw the other year groups arrive back and our building is full! The 'Buzz' is back; excited students, lots of smiling faces, and great learning already happening.
There are some photographs below that capture the excitement and enjoyment of our year 7s on their first day.
