Last week, students in Year 7 and 8 welcomed 12 exchange students from our German partner school, the Realschule im Kreuzviertel in Münster. Students went on trips to Bradford, a ghost tour of York and created fantastic sculptures together at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. For the German students, it was also an opportunity to visit Saltaire and to experience family and school life in the UK.
Beckfoot students are now really looking forward to a return trip to Münster towards Christmas time to be able to do the same.
Here are a few of their thoughts:
"During the week we have done lots of fun things. Our favourite day trip was going to York because we really enjoyed the tacky souvenir shopping task and all the time we got to spend together!"
Katie Roper, Year 7 and Chantal, her exchange partner
"The exchange program is good because you get to meet new people with totally different lifestyles, and people from different countries."
Thomas Carnelley, Year 7
"The school is very big and modern. We thought the German exchange was amazing and very fun."
Josh, exchange partner of Thomas
