Monday 4 January 2021
Hi everyone,
Apologies for the late communication.
As announced by the Prime Minister this evening, all students will stay at home from tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January and learn remotely, unless they are described as vulnerable or are children of critical workers in which case they will come to school.
I have asked my staff to deliver learning from their homes tomorrow, but some will come into the building to look after vulnerable children and those of key workers. I am very fortunate to have such an incredible staff with many already offering to be in school to help in any way they can.
Tomorrow will be a little different to what we had planned, and I would ask, given the timing of the announcement, that you are patient and understanding of our position. Staff have prepared their lessons and have done so in the knowledge they would be delivering from school using the equipment provided to do so. For most, that is now not possible, and it may take a day or two to rectify this.
Lastly, many of you will, no doubt, have questions about exams, free school meals, On Line/Live Learning etc. The detail will emerge sometime tomorrow I hope and then we can begin to share better information as appropriate.
I will be in touch again tomorrow and wish you all well for now.
Take care.
