Paris Art Trip

This February myself and some fellow year 12 students went with Mr Nash and Mr Sandercock for a few days in Paris. This was an arts appreciation trip, so we visited the major artistic sites such as the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Pompidou Centre, the Quai Branly Museum and the Musée de l’Orangerie. These were all great places to see, in particular I was excited to see the Musée d’Orsay, which has famous pieces by artists such as Van Gough and Monet - whose work I really enjoy, along with Da Vinci’s in the Louvre. We also did a bit of sightseeing, passing the Eiffel Tower on the way to a late-night boat cruise along the Seine and on the Friday we wandered down the Champs-Élysées to visit the Arc de Triomphe. Experiencing French culture was a large part of the visit, from making good use of the Paris Métro system, to trying local food (and the odd McDonalds!). It's safe to say we were all exhausted and had sore feet by the time we got back. This was definitely a fantastic experience which has inspired my artwork.
